17. How can I sell my securities/buy additional securities?
To sell your shares, you will need to visit a licensed stockbroking firm.
CSRL and SPX are not licensed to sell or buy shares on behalf of security holders.
18. How can I transfer my shares to someone I know?
To transfer your shares, you will need to visit a licensed stockbroking firm. The licensed stockbroking firm shall transfer your shares to the receiving party through what is called a Private Transfer.
19. What are the responsibilities of a stock broker?
A stockbroker is a regulated (by the Reserve Bank of Fiji) professional individual, usually associated with a
brokerage firm
or
broker-dealer
, who buys and sells
stocks
and other
securities
for both
retail
and
institutional
clients, through a
stock exchange
or
over the counter
, in return for a
fee
or
commission
.
Stockbrokers are known by numerous professional designations, depending on the license they hold, the type of securities they sell, or the services they provide.
20. How do I know which stock broking firm or which stockbroker is licensed by the Reserve Bank of Fiji?

21. Can minors have shareholdings?
Yes, minors can acquire shares however; they can only do this through persons who are authorized to act as a trustee(s) on their behalf (e.g. parents or guardians). The shares shall be in the name of trustee(s) until the minor is 18 years old (legal age). Example, “A” is a minor and “B” invests on “A’s” behalf, then the registry will record the name as “B as a trustee for A”.
22. What happens when the minor reaches the legal age? Can they transfer shares to their name and in this case, what will they need to do?
Once a minor reaches a legal age parents can transfer the shares to his name through a private transfer.
